High-res version

Newcomer director Marc Webb who directed the excellent 2009 indie rom-com 500 Days of Summer moved up the Hollywood ladder fast and is now back in the director’s chair with the reboot of the new Spider-man movie; The Amazing Spider-man. The teaser trailer gives off a more serious and darker tone than the previous three Sam Raimi movies. The movie stars Andrew Garfield from The Social Network plays Peter Parker and Emma Stone, red head turned blonde for the role of Peter Parker’s first girlfriend Gwen Stacy (she would’ve made an awesome Mary Jane).

Nerd fact: Kirsten Dunst (Peter Parker’s girlfriend in the first three movies) who’s blonde became a red head for the role of Mary Jane and then we have Bryce Dallas Howard, also a red head who dyed her hair blonde for the role of Gwen Stacy in Spider-man 3. So there you go…

Back to the trailer, it seems pretty alright, the casting is really good with Rhys Ifans, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary and after seeing a lot of behind the scenes photos I like that they have gone for more practical effects and web-swinging than the previous three CGI-bloated movies.

Let’s see if a reboot is enough to save this franchise, what do you think?
