Almodóvar and Banderas together again in the trailer for “The Skin I Live In”

This trailer, which is actually more like a teaser, for Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar’s latest film The Skin I Live In reunites the director with actor Antonio Banderas for the first time in over 20 years! The pair collaborated frequently during the 80s before Banderas went to Hollywood to become a star, predictably typecasted as “sexy latino apasionado” in everything from Mambo Kings to Desperado to Zorro most of the time. I’ve enjoyed some of it, but I’m happy to see him do something different (and in Spanish), even though I can’t really tell what’s going on in this short trailer:
My guess is that’s it’s about a woman who is so bored with her clothes and fashion sense that she rips all of them apart and vacuums them away with a mysterious hose in the wall. She switches to this cat burglar/superhero fashion that really upsets her husband (Banderas) and the film ends with a fight between the two about what they’re going to wear for a dinner invitation. Anything is plausible in an Almodóvar film.
