The visionary architecture company LAVA has designed “The Home of the Future” which will be an Avatar/Tron-like residence built on the rooftop of a furniture mall in Beijing, China.

“The Home of the Future” will integrate the latest improvements in comfort and technology while embracing nature as well. A skydome will provide a year-round climate that opens up the home to a garden filled with sun, light and fresh air and keep out the noise and pollution of the city.

During night time the tropical garden and the home will come to life and the electronic veins of the system will light up. LAVA has been inspired by nature’s efficiencies, Chris Bosse, Director of LAVA says: “The Home of the Future acts as a metaphor for the questions of our times, our relationship with nature, with technology and with ourselves.” The project will start construction at the end of this year.

LAVA’s Home of the Future is now on display at UTS Architecture in Sydney, where you can see process material, working models, renderings and animations of the project.
