Two weeks ago the International Space Station got a new permanent crew member on board, The Robonaut 2. It was delivered by the space shuttle Discovery which made its last planned voyage up into space.

Robonaut 2 is the first humanoid-like robot in space and NASA intends to use the Robonaut for tasks that are too dangerous for humans. The Robonaut was built jointly by NASA and General Motors.  The Robonaut have very human-like features and can even grip a pen and write “hello”. It can also use an iPhone. We are still investigating if the Robonaut can use the facebook app.

BONUS: During space shuttle Discovery’s last launch the passengers aboard an Orlanda-flight probably had the best seats on Earth to watch it from.
